#1 Daily runner : Nissan Cefiro a31

Couple of months ago i bought a Cefiro a31 as my daily workhorse. Bought it a reasonable price but theres some minor works have to be done. What do you expect, its an old car. But its surely fast though

Ignore the intercooler cover. I made it as a joke at first but at second glace.. nah it looks fine. Its a L6 grill btw. Specs
TEIN adjustable
TEIN adjustable caster
R33 LSD
R33 tank
R33 4pot 2pot
R34 RB25 NEO

The engine got few additional parts inside. But will elaborate more later on

But my luck ran out. Couple of days after my gearbox jammed up! Further inspection confirmed that theres no any trace of gearbox oil. Whattt

So i bought a used gearbox

Disassemble the old tranny

Yeah. its damaged alright. Turns out my speedo didnt work coz the speedo gear inside the gearbox also shattered

Since i brought down the heavy tranny i decided to change the clutch. Since i change the clutch id prefer buying a better clutch. So a genuine exedy super single is in hand. And Red Line gearbox oil for smoother gear change, I also bought LSD oil too. Totaling in whopping 6 bottles for god sake.

Actually theres some problems that the previous owner wasnt being quite honest
The aircond doesnt work, turns out the whole system is leaking. Blower jammed up. Switch problems. Engine didnt get service for quite a time. The clutch is a problem, he said the slave cylinder kinda rusty. Turns out the whole clutch is faulty. Clutch bearing prob. Turbo not in good shape (custom turbo) RB20 (whatt?) wiring which is really a mess. Engine spitting. Power steering pump from unknown model. which doesnt fit.. and theres leakage too. All already taken care of. But the moral of the story is, do a thorough check before buying a car.

Since the engine spitting and stuttering quite a lot i installed e-manage blue to stabilize the fuel. Turns out quite okay but the wiring really get me fed up.

I also got mine's ecu togeher with the car. Its supposed to give more fuel (maybe according to previous owner knowledge) . Well let me get this straight. RB20 WIRING AND ECU CANT SUPPORT RB25 ENGINE. Its a 500cc in different for crying out loud. Plus where do you put the trigger for the NEO? I found out later it have a switch connected to the NEO. Without a relay or fuse. So if i want to use the neo, just simply turn on the button at the exact rpm where the NEO should open. What kind of genius idea is that?

Eventhough with that wiring... And im still not satisfied. So i ditched the old wiring and the e-manage and i bought a complete wiring harness for RB25 NEO. Its a newer wiring and should follow all the trigger and sensors on the engine. Still ongoing process i hope its gonna turn out well.

Brought the car to puspakom. Settle all the docs, name transfer insurance roadtax.. etc

I bought it with Subaru seats which are hideous and not comfortable at all. Plus its like driving a lorry.. come on man it supposed to be a sports car with skyline engine. Why in the hell u put that stupid shit in this car? When its bumpy i can feel my hair rubbing against the headliner. Standard seats is much much more better than that. So i bought a used R32 GTR seats which bolt right in with this chassis. And i am so happy and glad i changed the seats. It is much more comfortable and sits much lower than before.

I was so happy i bought rear R32 GTR seats as well. The rear is also bucket seat and it sits rather low but comfy enough. Only the difference is A31 is a bit wider than R32 so theres a small gap between the seat and the wheel well/ Other than that. It matches the front seats!

Its been couple of months now i hope i can drive it home by next week. Cant wait to get in tint, some bodykits and paint job.
