#3 KE70 budget drift project

Like i said earlier i needed a good fuel system. So a custom tank sponsored by ProMax Garage is in hand. Some fuel pump i found at the old garage, pipeline from an abandoned car. As you can see the red thingy is from a plug cable

Stock up tires ( a lot more actually )

This is Daihatsu Move L6 front bonnet. Ideas?

Hmm.. should be some aesthetic purpose for my car

Nevermind.. this thing was cut from an awning.

Need some trimming later

Okay front lip done! Looks a bit better i suppose

Didnt do a lot to this car at the time. Budget were tight. Thankfully speedcity giving a free entry that week.

Well shit happens sometimes

I got a bent chassis. But i still continue drifting till some serious shit happen

The engine blown. That was it

Oil spilled all over the track. But i still continue drifting.. till the engine really give up on me

Goodbye 4AGE. You will be missed.

It was a tragic ending for me. Supposed to be a budget drift car but with the stupid engine blow.. theres no more budget to this car

adios

#2 KE70 budget drift project

I got no pics on the drifting day. But what i can tell is this car is lack of power. I mean really slow. The car needs a better front shocks. Needs super angle. Better fuel system. And again a whole lot more power

Without hesitation i just use the standard KE70 shocks but with a higher spring rate. Which i dont know coz i found the springs at the back of the workshop. And the only one that fits. Coupled with 2" spacers

Custom the knuckle for super angle setup. The poor way..

Some poor RCA that i found couple of years ago.

And adjusting the caster. All thing wasnt as i planned. The plan was only to do the super angle. But with that angle the tires will rub against the inner wheel well. So i needed the spacers to clear that, but the tires will rub againts the back of the wheel well. So i needed to adjust the caster 2 inch to the front

The result is...

Angle is alot.. but its too damn heavy. Since i was running late i decided to try this setup at speedcity. All the thing i did was on the same day before the event

As soon as i lowered the jack. New problem emerge. I need to cut the fenders.. Not some minor cut but a lots of cut here and there. The result is.. a flower on my fender.

I dont care if its a flower or what. As long as i can join that night its pretty much draw a smile to my face. It was a great night! No more spun out.. angle was awesome. Car didnt break a sweat.

No issues that night. Just some minor dent here and there.. no big deal :)

Now its time for the next upgrade

#1 KE70 budget drift project

The time when i sold my TE72. I made a promise to myself.. That someday.. maybe one day i will own another E7 chassis again with 4AGE inside. Because the engine is astonishing! The throttle response is magnificent. The power output is marvellous. And especially KE70 chassis is a sure a qualified candidate to own again and to be use as a drift missile.

So on October i bought myself a KE70 DX with 4AGE 16V inside. At first i thought on a standard chassis and do the engine swap myself. But buying a rolla with levin is way cheaper than that.

So the project start with couple of sponsors in hand.

Im sure many of you thought that this car was in a drifting accident. But NO. During the time, i parked the car outside a friend workshop. Which is not a good neighbourhood. Full of illegal immigrants and full of stupid and selfish people. Which is also the illegal immigrants. From this place you can see that Malaysia government is full of shit. Doing nothing and fully fed by bribe. And they claim they are the best government in the world and have the lowest corruption rate. Which in the real world they are contradicting themselves really.

Back to the story. The car got hit by a lorry that was carrying... i dont know.. maybe illegal immigrants i suppose? And he ran away. The best thing is the lorry shop is actually just opposite my friend workshop. He didnt take the blame and i decided to take it home and repair it myself.

Stripping everything and knock the dent out. Cant do anything with the bumper though.

Got it a full rollcage from EVO III. Some minor mod but it fits!

Remove the crown gear and weld it. Cant afford LSD.

The standard seats will not fit into this car. Rollcage took some space. Got the job done with couple of friends.. thanks to them!

A friend sponsored this S13 setup with RX7 caliper. But this will take some $$$ to spend so i decided to use the standard shocks for a starter. Done some more stuffs such as TRD clutch and flywheel.. some tweaks to the engine and stuffs. bla..bla..

Removed the tar. Bit lightweight, the car feels a bit more nimble. But it was at this time speedcity kl announced that they will close the track for good. I was shocked and frustrated. Ive bought the car and spend quite a dough on this car and then i got nowhere to drift.

After couple of months. They announced that they will re open the track and rebranding their event. Im waited for that opportunity for a long time. And that time has come

So before the event we did the seat bracket for driver and passenger. It was a quick job since i was running late.

Got it all together. Harnesses in. Some tuning and tweaking

And its time to test the car for the first time

#8 510 the sliders project

My frustration lasted bout 4 months or so and ive decided to get the car a proper tune up and maybe i can drive it like it was in its glory days.

The engine in the car is a L18 engine from Datsun 180k. Ive got rip off by the guy who sold me that engine. It got no forms.. So how can i get it endorse? He didnt answer my calls/message. Plus the engine was in a bad shape. It all happened at the same time. So ive spent couple of more dough on this engine which is a genuine 510 sss L16 engine with twin carb.. all the way 300km to the south

Time to remove the old wanker

Meanhwile i bought her new shoes. And i repaired the brake problem again for the fourth time or so.

So the new engine is in. The whole process also took like 3 months. So as you all can see this car spent lots of time parking than on the road. But finally i got it running smoothly, carbs okay. Wiring done, the engine looks a tad tidier than before.. 'tidier' is that even a word?

Back on its own feet with new shoes

Installing Hakosuka style spoiler

REMUS style exhaust twin tip. Which really really suit the car. Sounds okay too

Looks tougher than before. It looks like a wuss before :p

This is for my next project

Ive always admired the looks of a Datsun 510

Especially the back. It looks rather special

And to drive it again is a joy! a huge excitement and a whole lot of fun!

All functioning well, the engine is okay. The ride needs a bit of tweaks. Other than that, fabulous!

Unfortunately i NEED to sell this car. I love this car and its a shame that i have to let go this dime but i have lots more to fund and this car is such a waste for me to let it rot. And for that im searching for an enthusiast to take care of this car and the price is only RM7700 NEGO. Interested just hit me up at 019 3.4.1.6.9.6.1
