#21 Celica Update

A while ago i visited my Celica, but i didnt update anything cause the progress is really slow.

A single trip from my house to this paint shop would normally take me about 1 hour without traffic jams. But thats not a big hassle. My biggest probs is time.

But i do check on the car at some times, and this update was on last march.

As you can see, the exterior are mostly done and sprayed to random color. The reason is to see which color are suitable and to check for bodyworks defect .

Dont forget on the hinges too.

So last week i decided to send most of the exterior parts to be installed. Got myself a brand new front and rear weatherstrip.

I decided to take a look at my rear centre panel. My car is an original 1st model TA22 which came originally with flat lamp and the petrol filler is between the rear lights.

But the previous owner decided to convert it to bubble lights. The differences is on the centre panel, the flat lamp panel is shorter than bubble's. The curve is concave on the flat lamps, whereas the panel is flat on the bubble lamps , and the bracket is also different as the panel can be open and close to allow me to refuel the tank. The solution is, weld a piece of steel to make the panel flat to follow the shape of the bubble lamp. What a waste.

Here's other original stuffs.

Load in the car with the windscreen and all.

Here's the latest looks

Not much really, he went on with a second layer of cement to really close up the inconsistence of the bodyline.

The bodyline is really crucial on this process.

Next process will includes undercoat, and a bit more cement to really close up the gap. Base coat will prepare for a new layer of paint.

Hopefully will be ready within this month.

adios~
