This proves a lot of things when youre doing something that not many people understands.
Sometimes in life you'll just have to ignore critics from other people from doing something you like.. But sometimes that critics will turn into a challenge to prove yourself that you can do it and that will kick up some spirit to yourself on doing something that you'll enjoy.... a lot...
Here i am , doing something that most people always prejudge. Restoring ancient history car that people mostly forgotten of. And im gonna prove them wrong.
The amount of rust is innumerable. Some note should be taken for one who's fancied on restoring old cars. There is 6 favourite point of rust on aged cars like this.
1.Roof : This is where it all started, rain water pouring on the car and creates reservoir in the drain. It takes long time, but eventually it will eat the metal and oxidizes.
as you can see here, it becomes a bunch of holes.
2. Fender : Fender consists numerous amount of hidden holes and may collect rusts in a long amount of time.
and this is crucial.. it looks like biscuits
and this side gets the cancer too
I managed to remove the servo and clutch pump in order to paint the engine bay
3. Hood : The front and rear bonnet is also the favourite place for rust. It may look normal from above , but from below it got the munchies too.
This is the hood after done up
4. Below the roof : Normally covered up by door or body trims. But when you look up from below, that is some nasty holes.
5. Below the doors : People always missed it. But rust will always be there. If you leave it, it will eat your doors.
6. Floor Pan : I am lucky enough to have this perfect floor pan. There is no holes and major rusts. That should save my budget
Old car restorer should take this precautianary step as it will save you and your car from getting more damage in the future , this also will ensure you to have a safe body and stopped the rust from spreading all over the body. And when that happens , you'll blow more money on that..
To build a car like this may take a big amount of time and consuming a lot of money. But the amount of knowledge you can gain is phenomenal. And still, there's a lot of question needs to be answered. I'll just have to dig up from the past , which is to learn about this car , rebuild this car, and hopefully i can use the experience to gain more knowledge on newer cars.
